Anthony’s NHL Record: 8-4

Anthony’s Twitter: @AJGIII07

BOOM! I did it. WE did it. Finally getting that perfect week has me flexing like Sister Jean on Sunday when Loyola upset Illinois. Man, It feels good. We’re riding this wave and nothing can stop us. I don’t advise this, but I parlay both my picks each week. Why? Because not only do I have faith in them, but somebody needs to contribute to Kylie Jenner’s make-up artist’s GoFundMe. Just kidding – I’m a nice guy but not that nice. My entire life is a car crash – do you see me taking donations? (Hit me up for my Cashapp).

What’s an under bet without a nice sweat? That Bruins and Sabres game had me pacing around my sad excuse of a man cave. An unfinished basement occupied by an abandoned weight bench. I thought I was done for when the Bruins scored the fifth goal just five minutes into the third period. Luckily, that was the last, and there wasn’t an empty-net goal in the last few moments.

I made a good call sticking with the team total for Tampa Bay. If I had bet the over at six goals, it would have resulted in a push. I definitely needed some luck on this one as they scored the fourth and final goal with just sixteen seconds left on the clock. Whatever – I’ll take it.

Sitting at 8-4, my record is starting to look great and I’m ready to keep this shit going. I have a couple of winners locked and loaded, so let’s fire these out.

Smart Money NHL Picks For Thursday 3/25/21

New York Islanders @ Boston Bruins: Under 5 Total Goals (+120)

Maybe all this winning has gone to my head, but I don’t care. I promised myself I would stay away from the Islanders at all costs, but this week is different. Maybe it’s the fact that the stimmy finally hit my bank account and my cockiness is at an all-time high. We hit the under last week against this Bruins team, so let’s run it back.

Despite the season-long success, these teams haven’t been hitting the over consistently. The Bruins games have stayed under 9 out of the last 10 games, with the other game resulting in a push. That’s a hell of a streak, and I’m going to be betting it until it breaks. As for the New York Islanders, they are 5-5 on the over for the last 10 games – not as promising as the Boston Bruins but still formidable.

Another positive is that the Islanders are playing amazing defense this year. They’re averaging the fewest amount of goals scored against them at two per game.

Vegas Golden Knights @ Colorado Avalanche: Colorado Team Total Over 3 Goals (-150)

This should be a good game regardless of the outcome. Both teams rank in the top ten in the league and have been a blast to watch skate around the ice. Both teams have won 7 of their last 10 games and are red-hot scoring this season.

I was originally looking at the over for this game, but I settled on Colorado’s team total. It seems safer. I have more faith in the Avalanche scoring 4 goals than both teams combining to score 6. On the year, Colorado has averaged over 3 goals per game and doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon. In the last six games, they’ve scored at least 4 goals every single time.

The only hesitation I have is when I look at the Knights’ allowed goals per game so far this season. They are one of the best teams defensively, allowing fewer than 2.5 goals per game. With that said, I still think Colorado inevitably raises that average by the end of the night.

Bonus Pick: Vegas Golden Knights @ Colorado Avalanche: Colorado Avalanche Puck Line -1.5 (+150)

It’s been a minute since I looked at puck lines, but I’m happy to find this gem. The only thing I love more than this line is the odds I’m getting on it. Colorado has been absolutely decimating opponents recently. Looking at their last seven wins, they’ve won four by a margin of four goals or more. Insane. Let’s have fun and take this puck line. If you’re feeling even crazier, consider an alternate line of -2.5 at +265.

It’s been a crazy past week with March Madness. Chances are your brackets are in shambles and you’re looking for a pick-me-up. Hopefully, these picks can provide one for you. If you’ve been following The Odds Factory’s Twitter you should know that our picks have been on fire lately. Now’s the time to follow us on Twitter @theoddsfactory. Even better, follow me @AJGIII07, so you can yell at me and call me a hack when these picks inevitably lose. It’s okay – I can handle it.
