The lull between the Super Bowl and March Madness is always tricky for gamblers out there, but true degenerates will always find ways to persevere. There are plenty of opportunities to get good action this weekend – even outside of the standard NBA, college basketball, and NHL, there’s also the Australian Open and UFC 258 matchup between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. You might not know much about either of those fighters, but like I always say – never bet on someone named Gilbert in a fistfight. Gotta be the least intimidating name of all time.
Make sure you’re not leaving money on the table this weekend, and take advantage of a full slate of promotions across the top books, from William Hill to PointsBet to DraftKings. As always, I’m here to do the work so you don’t have to.
Top William Hill Promos
NBA 20+ Points
Promo: Place a $50+ straight, pre-game point-spread bet for the below games. If you win, receive $1 in free bet credit for every point scored above 20 points by any player on your team
- Pacers vs. Pistons
- Heat vs. Rockets
- Magic vs. Warriors
- 76ers vs. Trail Blazers
- Celtics vs. Raptors
This is a very good value deal with the potential for strong free bet payouts. If you’re going to take advantage of it, I’d use it for a team with multiple scoring threats to increase your free bet dollars (i.e. betting on the Heat and getting paid out if Butler and Adebayo have big nights).
NHL Golden Goals
Promo: Bet $50 on the moneyline in the Bruins vs. Rangers game. If you win, earn a $5 free bet for each goal your team scores, plus receive a $15 free bet if a player on your team scores a hat trick
Now that football’s over, I’m begrudgingly giving the NHL a chance, and this seems like a good place to start. Now, this game isn’t until Friday, but if you play your cards right with the NBA 20+ Points and the NHL Golden Goal, you can go into the weekend with a solid balance of free bet dollars.

NHL Overtime Insurance
Promo: Receive up to $50 back in free bets when you place a pre-game moneyline wager on the NHL and the team you bet on loses in Overtime or in a Shootout
Fun fact – over 24% of all NHL games have gone to overtime or shootout in the last 10 years. That’s a bit bonkers if you ask me.
I’m a big fan of insurance bets in general, which help ease my existential pain and panic after all my bets inevitably lose. If you’re smart and have been looking at the TomBox sports betting algorithm before every bet you make, you’d know that the smart move tonight is to lean on Knights ML against Anaheim (successful in 73% of simulations).
If you have no idea what the TomBox algorithm is, go check it out now. Stop trusting your gut (it’s usually wrong), and start using data-based insights before you bet.
Booster Odds
UFC 258
Odds Boost: Kamaru Usman to win by Points (Boosted from +120 to +145)
Usman is the favorite in Saturday’s title card (-280 at PointsBet) for good reason. He’s been on an absolute tear and has won his last 16 fights, 9 of those have been by decision. Take advantage of these odds and stack your winnings on Saturday.
NBA Boosters
There’s a nice line-up of NBA boosters tonight. The full card can be found here but below are my two favorite ones.
Odds Boost: Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to combine for 40+ points (Boosted from -125 to +100)
Butler and Adebayo have combined for 40+ in their last two games and look to be on track to do so again tonight. While Butler has a tough matchup with Eric Gordon (an underrated defender), I’m not confident anyone on Houston can stop Adebayo, and as a whole, the team is allergic to defense.
Odds Boost: Joel Embiid to get 30+ points and Philadelphia 76ers to win (Boosted from +145 to +165 from +145)
Embiid is almost averaging 30 a night, to begin with (29.1 ppg so far this year). And the Sixers have won 8 of their last 9 games when he’s gone off for 30+. I like this matchup against Portland tonight and love the odds for this little parlay we got here.
Top DraftKings Promos
Hammer the Over
Promo: Bet the over on Sunday’s Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets matchup. For every 1k bettors, DraftKings will lower the point total by 1 (i.e. with 10k bettors, the total drops 10 points)
This promotion might be the only thing that can unite this divided nation. If we all band together, we can drive the point total down so low that we bankrupt DraftKings. I don’t think we actually want to do that, but it’s good to have the option.
Plus, this game is ripe for points with Jokić, Murray, LeBron, and AD all on the same court. Dreams do come true, and with just a little bit of luck, we can make this happen.
